Thomas Jefferson University’s Department of Integrative Medicine and The Marcus Institute of Integrative Health offers a unique one year, full-time fellowship in Integrative Medicine. This is an outstanding opportunity for interested graduates of an ACGME-accredited residency program. Applicants must be board certified in their area of specialty, or plan to board certify during their year of fellowship training. This Fellowship has been approved by the American Board of Physician Specialties (ABPS) to meet all the requirements of the American Board of Integrative Medicine (ABOIM). Completion of the fellowship program provides fellows with eligibility to take the ABOIM board examination and to apply for board certification.
Our curriculum based on core knowledge content of Integrative Medicine using ABOIM exam content areas as a foundation. The curriculum is diverse, with clinical, didactic and research components. Our faculty are trained in both conventional and integrative practices. The fellowship comprises training in nutrition, vitamin, herbal and hormonal treatments at our Villanova and Center City Sites. The Program includes 2 certificate courses; one in Nutrition, and an intensive Mind-Body Medicine course, as well as a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program. Research is designed for your area of interest in the field, and we have many opportunities in innovative research in Integrative Health and Medicine.
The Marcus Institute of Integrative Health, Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health, includes two full-service clinics for medical consultations, a unique pharmacy-certified micronutrient infusion center; a wellness center specializing in fitness and mindfulness programs; a state of the art imaging facility that includes MRI, fMRI, and PET imaging; and most recently, the nation's first Department of Integrative Medicine and Nutritional Sciences, which is a full clinical department of Thomas Jefferson University’s Sidney Kimmel Medical College. The Marcus Institute sees a wide range of patients and offers chronic illness care, preventive medicine, and numerous wellness services.
