The Marcus Institute of Integrative Health is excited to announce another MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) session to reduce stress, enhance wellness, and relieve pain. Participants will explore this practical time-proven approach to living more fully in the present.
To kick things off, there is a free introductory session being held on Wednesday, May 27th from 5 pm – 6 pm via an online Zoom video conference. During this session, you’ll learn what MBSR is and you’ll get to try a brief mindfulness meditation. More information about the full program will also be provided.
The MSBR Foundation Course, conducted through Zoom video calls, will more wholly explore mindfulness techniques. Participants will be encouraged to practice what they learn on a daily basis during the 8-week course. The program runs from June 9 – July 28 on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm, with an additional half-day class on Sunday, July 19 from 10 am – 2 pm. Orientation (participation required) will take place on Tuesday, June 2 from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm.
The Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program costs $450, however there is a $100 discount for Jefferson Health Employees who register with their Jefferson email, as well as a half-price discount for full-time students. Financial assistance and payment plans are available. They will be considered on an individual basis by emailing mbsr@jefferson.edu.
There are several requirements for online participation:
Continuing Education Credit Hours: NASW-PA Chapter is a co-sponsor of this workshop. Up to 20 credit hours will be awarded for completion of this course. NASW has been designated as a pre-approved provider of professional continuing education for Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Counselors (Section 47.36) by the PA State Board of Social Workers, Marriage & Family Therapists and Professional Counselors.
